As you all can tell, I have not kept up on the blog at all since April. But, I've had a few complaints and was asked to post some things about Leila and Kael... If you don't already know we will soon have a new addition to our family. I am 33 going on 34 weeks with Kael O'Kelley Wilson. I think Leila is starting to notice that things are changing. My belly is huge and she like to come up and put her hands on it and give my belly a kiss. It is the cutest thing you've ever seen! Leila is now talking a lot more. She has figured out the word "no" and likes to use it. She also is in the stage of imitating. In the evenings she loves to sit by me and put her hands around her belly as well. She also likes to "cook" in her little play kitchen. She is always making Luke, Me, and her dolls something. We are so proud of her and can't believe how big she is getting. She is going to be a wonderful sister.
This week we are moving. YAY! It's been very hectic and I haven't been feeling well. I think all the up's and down's with packing and unpacking have done a number on me. I noticed last night that I think Kael has dropped. Two strangers commented on it this last weekend but he's always been low so I never paid much attention. Last night after working most of the day on the the new place I was feeling a ton of pressure. I am going to the OB every two weeks but will soon start going every week. They will watch me a lot closer towards the end since Leila was early. Last time I went in they couldn't find his little head... they said he might be face up. UH-OH! I should find out on Tuesday for sure how he is laying. Anyways... the moving is going good and we should be totally in the new place by the weekend. We will be living in a nice duplex between both grandparents so it'll make things a lot easier. I am also having my baby shower this weekend and can't wait to see all the goodies we get. The boys will be moving the big things during me shower... hehe sucks for them. :)

Leila is almost 13 months old. She seems like a totally different baby everyday. She is walking everywhere now and she's into everything. She also is pointing at things around the house wanting to be told what they are. She loves to dance and loves to put things in and out of her little purse. I can't believe how she's more like a toddler now than a baby. They grow up so fast!

Sunday night she got her first boo boo. Leila, Hannah (good friend of mine) and I met my mom and dad at Andy's for a treat. Leila was walking everywhere... mostly between mom and dad to get a taste of both of their ice creams. Well, she was walking on an incline and fell right on her face. It happened before any of us could grab her in time. She got a small cut under her nose but we washed it up and it didn't look that bad. They next morning she woke up and had a big red mark where the cut was. She must have just rubbed the skin off raw when she fell. Poor thing. :(

Other than that, nothing more to update. She still does not have a SINGLE tooth but each day we hope for one. Hehe.

BIG NEWS!

Leila has officially started crawling. As most of you have seen, she has been scooting across the floor and not using her knees. Well, today (Thursday) she did it!!! She has been crawling on her hands and knees all day. I cannot express how proud of her I am. What a big girl! Hopefully, I will get new and updated pictures up soon.

Tomorrow, Luke has the day off and we're taking Leila to go see Santa Clause. I can't wait. I'm hoping she doesn't scream... I would like to get at least one good picture of her and Santa. Wish us luck!

On Halloween this year Leila was a monkey. We started out the night by visiting Luke's friends, May and Dino to show them Leila's outfit. Then, Melissa and I went to my parents where we took Leila down their street. After taking Leila trick or treating, we went over to Grandma and Grandpa Baldwin's house.

6 Month Check-Up

Yesterday, I took Leila in for her 6 month doctor's appointment. She was such a good girl. She was playing when Dr. Fusselman came in... When she made eye contact she starting smiling and jumping up and down. Little did she know we were there to get shots.

Dr Fusselman looked her over and said she looked wonderful. After looking her over and watching her, he said she was three month advance for her age. I was very surprised but very proud. He joked with me and asked if she was nine months and if I had just forgotten when she was born. Haha. He said she will probably walk early. So, I guess we'll be having to buy baby gates before too long. He also questioned me about her eating habits. For all of you that have been around Leila... she never stops moving. She's always looking or reaching for something. He said she's such a big eater because she's burning off a lot of calories. The shocked of it all was that he told me to go ahead and start table food. I couldn't believe it. He said to start her on mashed potatoes, mashed peas, mashed carrots, mashed chicken, ect. Luke and I are going to hold off on giving her meat from the table. But, we are going to try some of the things that will be easy to go down.

Last night, Luke fed Leila her dinner.She had mixed veggies (which looks SO gross) and strawberry,banana, apple. That has been the first time he's done it in months. I sat by him and laughed most of the time. Leila had it ALL over her. I told Luke he needed to do it more for the practice. She was after the food and was cracking us up. Leila was also trying to get the spoon and feed herself. What a goober! Well just a little update for everyone. I'm trying to get on here more.

Hey everyone!!! I just wanted to stop by and add a couple pictures. These were taken at Elena's first birthday by Liz's sister, Jessica. Thank you so much Jessica for taking these. I love them!!!!!

Leila is growing like a weed. She is over 17 pounds now and hard to hold on to. She is always on the move. She never sits still. She isn't crawling yet but she has learned to scoot backwards. So, we can't leave her in the room alone anymore. She is also fascinated with faces. She loves to rub them but it soon turns into pinching. Haha. She is very lovey though... a big sweetheart!!!

Just another update. Luke, Leila, and I are taking family pictures on our one year wedding anniversary by the photographer that did our wedding. So, I'll post those as soon as I get them as well. I'm really excited to have some great pictures of all three of us.

So, as you all know I haven't updated the blog in months. I just don't have much time anymore. Leila has been growing a lot. She is around 17 pounds now. She's been trying to sit up on her own and she laughs all the time... mostly when mommy and daddy are acting silly. We are also on our third bathtub for her. We got one of the expensive ones to start out with but it really didn't have a good design. It was great for when she was a newborn but she wasn't able to sit up on her own in it and the hammock part of it, she was hanging over the sides. So, then I got another one... turns out that one didn't have enough butt room for her. So, she wiggled around in it a lot. Finally, I got another one at walmart. It turned out to be the cheapie one and it's our favorite, who would have thought? hehe. Leila is also talking ALL the time. We have been working with her to try to say her first word. So, far... no luck. She is also about to cut teeth soon. She is drooling all the time and biting on things.

Well, here are a couple pictures from the last couple of weeks. Sorry there's not very many. My camera needs to have the battery charged and I keep forgetting. Leila and I are headed to Columbia tomorrow for Elena's first birthday so I'll make sure to take lots of pictures.

Thursday,my mom, Josh, Liz, Elena, Leila, and I headed down to Branson to Silver Dollar City. They found a coupon where Leila and I could get in for only $10, what a deal! It was a long day but both babies were great! Here are a few highlights for the day

Funny story I just had to share...

Yesterday at church, Mom was holding Leila and she was been very good. As church was coming to an end, there was a moment where it was quiet. Mom had said Leila had been tooting a lot, so, I was checking her diaper to see if she had pooped. Just as I was opening up the leg whole, she farted really loud. Mom said I jumped like I'd been shot. Everyone around us turned and looked and started laughing. Her fart was SO loud!!

The past few weeks have been crazy. Leila has been growing like a weed. Here are a few highlights from the past couple of weeks...

Leila was hospitalized on June 13th to have a biopsy. She has not been wanting to poop on her own so Dr. Ford did a few test to see if anything was wrong. So far, all her test have come back perfect. Because Leila is so little, she had to stay in the PICU for 24 hours. In this picture, the nurses brought her a swing and she loved it.

This week has been pretty low key. Today we went in for her two month check up. They said she looked really good. She had gained a pound in less than 2 weeks. She is now 10.3 pounds and 22 inches long. While we were there, they gave her three shots. She was screaming so much her face was almost purple. I couldnt watch while they did it, I felt so bad for her. She took it like a champ though. Once they were finished she calmed down. By the time we walked out, she was already asleep in her carseat. The lady who gave her the shots just kept saying over and over how cute she was and how sweet of a baby she was. I was very proud of her.

Hey Everyone!!!

The past few weeks have flown by. Leila is getting so big and she changes just about everyday. She can just about hold up her head now and she is also tracking things in the room. We have figured out she loves Luke's computer screen. It has a lot of bright colors and she loves to stare at it.

On Friday I took her into the doctor because she had been really fussy in the evenings. She has had gas really bad as well. They ended up giving her Zantac for acid reflux. So far, it has really helped. She still has gas but she's not spiting up anymore. Overall, she seems a lot more comfortable. While we were at the doctor they weighed her. She is 9 pounds 4 ounces! She had jumped from the 15th percentile (from when she was born) to the 50th percentile. The doctor was very please. Here are a few pictures from this week...

Last night I bundled up Leila because it was raining outside. She wasn't too happy about it... she does not like putting on a jacket. She just got done fussing and spit out her binky... we thought it was too cute so, Luke took a picture

On Mother's day weekend, Leila took her first trip to Silver Dollar city. We were there with Mel and May, Josh, Liz, Elena, and my mom. The day went really well. The weather turned out to be nice and both babies were great!

My first Mother's Day went well this year. Grandma and Grandpa Baldwin watched Leila while Luke took me out to a nice dinner and a movie. It was the VERY first time I had left Leila. I cried saying goodbye and all the way to dinner. After I got to dinner and was distracted, I was ok. But, I was glad to head home and hold my sweetheart. She did very well and I know she had a lot of fun with Grandma and Grandpa.

This weekend I left Leila with Daddy all alone for the first time. I had a bachelorette party to attend. It didn't go so well... Luke ended up picking me up at 11:00 because Leila wanted her mommy. Apparently, she cried from the time I left until Luke picked me up. She is for sure a mommy's girl! I hope she grows out of this though. It's already hard enough to leave her but knowing she's upset the whole time makes it worse. Luke has been spending more time with her this weekend so hopefully with him trying to interact with her more, she will become more at ease with being left with him.

Finally, I get a chance to get on here and do some updates. My sister-in-law, Liz, has a blog as well and she updates just about every week. I don't know how she does it. Props to you Liz. :)

On April 21st was Leila's official due date. Turns out we had a doctor's appointment that day. The pediatrician was very impressed with her weight gain. She had gained over a pound in two weeks. So as of the 21st, Leila weighs 7 pounds, 2 ounces. He also got a good laugh out of how big her belly was getting. He said she for sure wasn't missing out on any meals. Haha! I still haven't gotten in much of a routine with her yet. I don't get much done throughout the day. Mom and Luke keep telling me to just lay her down, but I still have a hard time with it. I'm getting better but it's a slow process. Good news is that she's starting to sleep through the whole night-YAY

A couple Sunday's ago, we drove out and had a BBQ with Luke's family. For some of them, that was the first time they'd ever seen Leila. She won over the crowd. They couldn't get over how much she looked like Luke. Here's a picture of her asleep at the BBQ...

One evening we had Leila just hanging out in her diaper. She ended up passing out in her boppy and we figured it's be a great photo opt. Look at her belly!!!!

This week Leila has had the flu so we've been hanging out at home. I think she's on the downhill slide of it but she's still not 100% yet. She's mostly having problems with gas and being able to go poop. Every time she tries, she starts to cry (which isn't normal for her) I too am laying low this week because I've been having some sort of allergic reaction to something- we can't figure out what. But, I'm itching all over and am very uncomfortable. Last night, Luke help me put calamine lotion all over. So, I'm polka dotted with light pink. UGH. haha

This week Leila turned three weeks old. I can't believe it! It seems like time is just flying by. Yesterday, we went to the doctor for one of her check-ups. The doctor was very impressed with how great she looked. She had gained over a pound in two weeks. He was laughing because her face is getting really round along with her belly.... then, she has skinny arms and legs. Today, I had to go to the doctor and the OB nurses went on and on about how cute she was and how great she looked for only being 3 weeks.

Leila is a great baby. Luke and I feel very blessed. She's still trying to get down nursing but it's a process... One thing is for sure, she LOVES to eat!!!

We found out today that Leila had a bit of jaundice. We are having to keep a special light on her for 24 hours. We will then go back tomorrow for some more test and hopefully she won't have to have the light anymore.

I started having contractions three-four minutes apart Friday morning after having my bloody show. I was only dilated to a 1 still so they sent me home. Saturday my contractions moved to 2-3 minutes apart but I still couldn't move past 1 cm. Sunday I was in so much pain and there was nothing they could do because I wouldn't progress any... Luke talked me into having my mom go out and about with me to walk and get things moving. Mom helped me get dressed and we headed to Gordman's. We had only walked/shopped for about 10 minutes when my water broke. We were standing in the shoe aisle and when I stepped forward I felt a HUGE gush...every move I made, I gushed more. ICK! We hurried out and called Luke for him to grab the bags and meet us at the hospital. When we got there I had dilated to a 2 and Leila had dropped more. They then moved me to a labor-delivery-recovery room. We were in lucky #7. After getting settled in, the nurse checked me again. I had already progressed to 4 cm. After that, I dilated about 2-3 cm's an hour. Oh and did I mention I I got an epidural? WOW, they are wonderful. It took 5 minutes to take affect and I didn't feel a single contraction afterwards. At one point, I was feeling a lot of pressure with each contraction... something for sure felt different. We called for the nurse to come check me. Sure enough, she said it was time to push. Of course Luke and I both silently panicked. We updated the family and the nurses started prepping the room. I pushed for an hour before they decided to use a vacuum on her. Turns out, I was just too small to push her out myself and her heart rate was dropping when I had a contraction. With two pushes, she was out. She started crying immediately... she was perfect!!! I was in labor for a total of 7 hours.

After about an hour they moved me to my own room where we got Leila back from the nursery and the Grandparents got to hold her for the first time.

Today I went in for my weekly OB visit. When the doctor checked me it turns out Leila has turned head down-YAY!!!!! The doctor was laughing at me because I was extremely shocked and excited. She then checked my cervix and said I was 1 cm and 70% effaced. She then told me it could be anytime now. She said when she checked me, she could feel Leila's head. SO COOL! She said walking would help me dilate more... so I'm going to try that tomorrow. Luke's making me dinner tonight so I'll be glad to take it easy. I've been having contractions most of the day but nothing consistent. You never know, we may have Leila by next week. I will keep you all posted and let you know when we head to the hospital. We are all very excited and can't wait to meet her. The OB said she looked great and was big enough to come now. So, when she starts to come, it's the real deal this time.

Sorry I haven't been on here and updating everyone about what's going on...

This week I made another trip to labor and delivery. I was spotting a little Monday night around 11ish. I called Tuesday morning and they wanted me to come in and get checked out. I met mom at the hospital and we went up together. They hooked me up to monitors and left us in the room for close to two hours. When the nurse finally came back, she said I was having consistent contractions and that they were calling my OB to find out what she wanted them to do. So, she left the room and we waited some more. Turns out the OB thought it was too early for her to come (I was 35 weeks at the time) So, they gave me a shot to stop labor. The shot hurt... hurt REALLY bad. haha. It also made me have the shakes. My hands, eyes, and body were shaking from it.

Ever since they've stopped labor, I've been having a lot of contractions and pressure down low. I'm not sure if Leila will make it until the end. I've had a few contractions that have even made me throw up. Therefore, I am DONE being pregnant. haha. I start my weekly OB visits on Tuesday. Hopefully, I will get some answers on what's going on.

This morning I went into the OB. Everything looks good and is right on schedule. She is growing perfectly. :) As all of you know, I was hoping she'd come a couple weeks early. Turns out she's still not head down and doesn't look like she'll head that way anytime soon. The doctor checked her and she's sideways, AGAIN! So, she said most doctors turn the babies at 36 weeks but she's going to wait until the very end so she doesn't turn back. She also said that babies that are not head down tend to go all the way up to 39-40 weeks. Darn!!!! So, she said we can try to turn her later on or just schedule a c-section. She said it's up to me and what I would prefer. So, it looks like I'm going to be pregnant for the entire next 6 weeks.
The doctor also gave me a prescription to take everyday to help with the acid reflex. When they took my blood pressure today it was a bit high but I think it was because I was up all night sick again.

For weeks now I've bee trying to video tape Leila kicking. Every time I'd try, she'd stop or just stick up her butt. Hehe. Today I finally got her on camera. I am so excited!! Take Two

As several of you know, I've been getting sick throughout the night over the last three weeks or so. I finally went into the OB this morning. They figured out what was making me sick but there's nothing they can do about it. Turns out, Leila is laying diagonal in my tummy. Her butt is in the upper right and her head is in the lower left. Therefore she is literally crushing my stomach which is making me sick. They said there's nothing to worry about as long as she moves head down in the next 3 weeks. Plus, they said if I'm still not feeling well towards the end they may induce a week or two early if I haven't already gone into labor. So, the nurse said I'll just be sick for the next 6 weeks... which sucks!!!! But, hopefully she'll move and give me a break. They were also surprised at the OB because even after being sick, I still managed to gain 6 pounds in 2 weeks. Oops... good thing I'm small and all belly otherwise I think they'd frown upon that.

We finally have the crib set up and ready to go. My mom and dad bought the crib for Leila and it finally arrived Tuesday afternoon. Luke and I set it up tonight. It was pretty easy to put together for the most part. The bedding was bought by my grandma, isn't it beautiful? The teddy bear in the corner is called a "mommy bear." It creates sounds from the womb to soothe the baby.

Valentine's Day

So, today is Valentine's Day. I had the day off because I was up all night throwing up.. YUM. It seems that Leila is getting to be a very big girl and she's crushing my stomach. Which makes me sick. The OB has me trying a few things to settle my stomach, hopefully they'll work. Other than that all is good. As you can see, I'm growing more and more everyday. I'm "full term" as of March 31st, I'm thinking Leila won't go all the way to the end... she's big and I'm running out of room. If for some reason she does stay in there a while, they will induce April 23rd.

Tonight Luke took me out to a nice 3 course dinner. It was great! Then, we went to walmart to get the crib matress (yay) and then home to watch a movie. We will be setting the crib up tomorrow evening so I'll make sure to take some pictures for everyone to see.

Getting Organized

This afternoon I was getting some things organized in the nursery. While I was getting things out of their boxes and set up I just happen to look over and see a tail waving around out of the stroller. Max was spread out laying down. He thought the stroller was the best thing! He laid in there for awhile until I made him get out. Here's a few pictures... it was too cute to not share :)

So, we got to go get the 3D ultrasound today. It was awesome! It was me, Luke, Luke's Mom, his step-dad, and my mom and dad. We were all packed in there...
Leila put on quite a show for us. Here's some pictures of what we got to see.

Labor & Delivery Visit

So I finally saw the inside of Labor and Delivery at St. John's this morning. This morning I woke up with lots of cramping but made it through getting ready and headed off to work. Once at work the pain in my lower stomach had worsen. I had gone to the ladies room and was in there for over 15 minutes... not really being able to move. My co-teacher called in our boss to help. By this point, I was crouched down and crying. She called my OB and they said to go to labor and delivery. I have to admit, it was really scary. I knew I couldn't be in labor but whatever was going on wasn't normal. I was sure Leila was ok because she was kicking the entire time (which didn't help the pain)
Once at the hospital the OB on duty had me give a urine sample. They tested it and came back saying there was a lot of blood found in it. By this point they had me stripped down and into a hospital gown along with having two monitors on Leila. They asked if I had fallen on my tummy or if someone had hit me. Of course, I said no. They watched me for about an hour and also called me regular OB. While there, Leila kept them hopping. She is such a mover that they had to keep unhooking the heart beat detector and chase her once again around my stomach. They were getting quite a laugh out of how hard she was kicking and how often. Every once in a while the screen jumped up as if to detect a contraction but it was only Leila kicking. Crazy how strong she is already.
After running some test and talking to my OB (Dr. Gibbons) They figured out I had a bad bladder infection. The doctor said if I would have waited any longer that it would have turned into pre-term labor. She said it was a really good thing I had caught it and came in immediately. She said it's a lot easier to treat the infection then to stop labor. Right now the main OB offices are closed and won't open until Wednesday (because of New Years) She said if I would have waited until Wednesday to be seen, I would have probably already been in labor.
We are just trilled little Miss Leila is in there safe and sound and not coming out yet. I guess for once, me being a wimp paid off.

Christmas

Leila got all kids of things for Christmas this year. From her Grandma and Grandpa Baldwin, Aunt Sam, and Uncle Jake she got a mommy bear. You attach it to the crib and it creates soothing sounds from the womb. It should help her be at ease while laying in her crib. It should also help her fall asleep much faster. I'm really excited to be able to use it.

Leila's stroller and car seat are also on order. Great Grandma Looten bought her stroller this week and it's being shipped to our house. From Grandma and Grandpa Looten, she got a newborn size one piece outfit that's green with pink flowers and she got a glow worm that sings several songs and lights up. From Uncle Josh, Aunt Liz, and cousin Elena she got 3 really cute outfits. One of them was special for Luke. It says, "Kiss Me, I'm Irish." I know Luke will be putting that on her all the time!

I'm sorry that I haven't been really good about updating the blog. We've been super busy around here getting ready for Christmas.
I finally went back to the OB yesterday. She had gotten the results back from the ultrasound and she said Leila was perfect. She was right on target with weight, length, and had the right amount of amniotic fluid. When she went to check her heartbeat, the nurse had to chase her around my belly. Leila was moving so much and so fast that they found her heartbeat in three different spots of my tummy. She's VERY active all the time. Luke has been able to feel her on a regular basis now. She's kicking hard enough now that you can see my tummy stick out where she kicks. How awesome!
Luke started on her nursery this week. It's turned out to be a pretty long process. He though the room was wallpapered and then painted over. Turns out they DID wallpaper it but it was directly to the drywall. He didn't figure this out until he had scored the entire room. OOPS! So, we had to go back to Lowe's to get texture for the walls to cover up all the little wholes. SO, he textured the wall and then put the base color on. Which is a bright/light green. We are then going to do color washing on top of that. She'll have the best room in the house. HE HE!

This week I got 2 molars pulled out. So, Luke has had to take care of me all week. The house is a MESS so I have to get on that today while my pain pill kicks in. I never in a million years would have guessed I would be this sick with having 2 teeth pulled. Problem is, I'm scheduled to get the other side done soon. AHHH! I've missed everyday this week from work because I've been too sick to get up off the couch. Hopefully next time will be better

IT'S A GIRL!

OB Appintment

I finally went back to the OB yesterday and had some test ran. They checked some of the pre-cancerous cells and everything looked good. They said it may have gone away on it's own. Which was great news. We also got to schedule our 20 week ultrasound for December 7th at 1:30. The doctor almost made me wait another week but I told her it was my birthday that weekend so she went ahead and let me do it. I am very pleased with my OB doctor. I think she does a great job and she's really easy for me to talk to. I couldn't have picked anyone better.

Not much to update about yet. I go to my OB appointment a week from today (Nov. 27th)

Baby Wilson has been kicking a ton. Sometimes it feels like he/she must be having a party in there. Also, my belly button has almost popped out. I can't believe it! I thought I would be much farther along before that happen.

Today was a pretty uneventful day for baby and I. A GIANT bug tried to attack us this morning but that was about it. I still haven't opened the bathroom door back up to see if it's still there. I'm waiting on Luke to come home from work and come to the rescue.
Tonight I had a meeting at work and afterwards went over to mom and dad's to eat and watch some tv. Well... mostly, it hide from the bug. Hehe! Mom and dad couldn't believe how much I'm showing now. It's hard to believe there's this perfect little baby growing inside me. It seems like everyday I grow a little rounder. I've also officially moved into maternity clothes. I had been using the rubber band trick with my jeans but one day it flew off without me noticing and my pants were hanging open. So, I went that evening and bought a couple pairs of pants. They're great though! They're like wearing sweatpants.
Josh, Liz, and Elena are coming into town tomorrow. When they arrive we're meeting them at Hemingway's and I'm going to hopefully get some good belly shots for everyone to see.

I'm Finally Online!

Hey y'all!
Sorry it's taking me forever to finally get a blog started. The past few weeks have been super crazy.
The latest news is that Luke just bought me a car tonight!!! It's a gray 2004 Saturn. Good mommy car. Hehe! We test drove it this afternoon and both of us were sold. It's crazy to go from a convertible to getting excited about car seat holders and child proof locks. Oh what parenthood does to you....
Speaking of little baby Wilson, it won't be too much longer until we have our ultrasound that will finally tell us if we're having a Kael or Leila. As of Monday, I will be 17 weeks along. To be honest, it's gone by really fast. I'm finally having to start buying maternity clothes because nothing of mine fits. I'll try to get some belly pictures up soon. Baby is really sticking out. Plus, baby has started kicking this week. They love to wake me up by bouncing around. It's been some pretty awesome last few weeks. Baby Wilson has grown so much!
